At Wattley Discus, we work to improve and strengthen the immune system of our fish, we attempt to avoid aggressive or disproportionate treatments that compromise our cichlids immunology, choosing preventive methods of defense against diseases caused by external attacks. Improving the immune system with dietary supplements and antioxidants such as ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and probiotics. We increased the resilience of our discus to be able to adapt to their new homes with stronger immune systems. This gives them the ability to protect themselves against pathogens. It therefore improves the acclimatization period and is less stressful during fish shipments to our new customers tanks. It also protects their innate mechanical barriers, as are the mucus or intestinal flora. In most cases we use natural methods to restore a healthy state.
We feed our fish with our customized formula (beef heart) which contains krill, vitamins and probiotics powder. We feed this throughout the day and dry food with liquid probiotics at the last feeding of the day.
